On September 21, 2021, the South Shore middle school attended the Northwestern Cross Country Invitational meet at the Norwood Golf Course. All of these young athletes have put a lot of effort into improving their running times this fall. Sophia Truchon stood out from the rest of the runners and took first place in the meet. Sophia is a 7th grader and she was competing against girls ranging from 6th to 9th grade. The race was 3,200 meters and her winning time was 13 minutes and 53 seconds. Her competitor that achieved second place was very close behind, with a time of 13 minutes and 56.6 seconds. We are all excited to see Sophia continue to excel in Cross Country throughout the rest of middle school and into high school. Congratulations!
