Art Spotlight: Fish Art Contest
April 7, 2021
Students in 2nd through 6th grade have been working on their State Fish Art Contest artwork. The fish art contest is an international competition introducing young people to the wonders of fish, the joy of fishing and the importance of aquatic conservation. This project was started last year before school shut down. Mr. Reed Saam from Red Cliff Fish Hatcheries visited the art room to give a presentation about his job as a fish biologist, the Great Lakes, and the fish of Wisconsin. Students were inspired through their choice of fish to create an artwork that included a fish and its habitat. Grades 4th and up researched and wrote an informational essay to go along with their fish art.
