Koy Nelson Reaches His 1000th Career Point!
March 1, 2021
On February 19, 2020, Koy Nelson hit his 1000th career point in a game against Bayfield at home during the second round of regionals. Koy is a junior at South Shore, who also participates in cross country and track and field. This milestone comes one week after Koy was nominated for VNN Athlete of the Week for February 1-7 following his record-breaking game at Ashland High School on February 6, where he broke the record for most points in a game (50 points!) and also broke the record for the most made three point shots made in a single game (10 made shots).
Koy began his wildly successful high school basketball career at Northwestern High School, then transferred to South Shore during his sophomore year; playing his sophomore season at South Shore. When asked how it felt to reach his 1000th career point, Koy said, “I felt great when I shot my 1000th point. I was happy that I was able to accomplish that because most high school players don’t reach that goal.” Congratulations Koy!
