This week in virtual school art students worked on value studies. Value is the lightness or darkness of an object or area. Students practiced shading different values to make objects look three-dimensional. Shading for 3D effects is created with careful pencil pressure control and soft value transitions. Students created value crystals using triangles and shading to demonstrate this concept.
