On October 20th, the high school Cross Country team competed at their semi-sectional meet. The meet took place in Hurley, Wisconsin. Even with the cold temperatures and snow, the runners gave it their all. The boy’s varsity team ended the meet receiving 4th place and the girl’s varsity received 3rd place. Special congratulations to Lily Truchon, who will be advancing to Sectionals in Cameron, WI, on Saturday October 24th as an individual runner. Coach Marla Lahti adds, “It was tough to not be able to see all the girls competing and how far behind or ahead you are, because we did not all run together. Regardless, we are so happy we got to compete this year, and I am very proud of how hard everyone worked and our outcome.”

Our school is very proud of our South Shore High School Cross Country team and how determined they were to work through the challenges and end with a successful season, and to Lily Truchon: We wish you luck and look forward to seeing you represent the Cardinals at Sectionals!
