Another School Year is in the Works!!!!

Students are back! The first day of school this year was September 3, 2019. Right off the bat the entire junior senior high came together for a welcome back assembly. Principal, Clendon Gustafson welcomed the new staff South Shore brought in for this year.  Including, Sandra Szafranski, Erin Sullivan, Kathy Sorenson, Jill Knaack, Kathy Irwin, Mikaela Franson and Patsy Benedict. Mr. Gustafson added that he had never, in all his years working at South Shore, ever seen this many new faces in one year before. When asked her opinion on all the new staff our school has brought in English teacher, Mrs. Lazorik responded with “I think it’s fantastic, new people and new ideas.” This school year is looking bright for the Cardinals. New people to make a year special. New teachers to introduce new kinds of teaching methods and new classes offered to students.

Additional changes this year are the shift of the fifth and sixth grade classroom to the high school end of the building. The population in the elementary has grown to necessitate this move, and former 7th grade teacher Mr. Tiberg is now the Physical Education teacher. Big future for South Shore.
