Mrs. Suo and Mrs. Granke took Third and Fourth grade to the Northern Great Lakes Visitors Center on April 15th. Students got their hands dirty with “Dig into Archaeology!” a program put on by the Madeline Island Museum. They also learned about Native American culture through story and dance. After lunch Rivers2Lake staff Melissa and intern Michael guided students on an art hike. Students walked along the interpretive boardwalk trail that winds through meadows, forests and swamps. Students stopped along the trail to learn about native plants and animals and made many observations and sketches. Before heading back to school students had the opportunity to explore the visitor center.
