The Bayfield County Land and Water Conservation Department, along with the WI Land+Water Conservation Association held a county-wide K-12 youth conservation poster contest.  The 2019 National Poster Contest theme was:  “Life in the Soil:  Dig Deeper” with students from Bayfield County participating.  Posters were judged based on originality of design, color, neatness, and relevancy of the conservation theme.  Results for South Shore participants are as follows:

Grades 2-3:  1st Place–King Price; 2nd Place–Tucker Mueller; 3rd Place–Idella Wilcox

Grades 4-6:  1st Place–Trinity Maki; 2nd Place–Sophia Truchon; 3rd Place–Brooklyn Lehto

The 1st place posters were recently judged at the Northwest Area level resulting in a 1st place win for King Price in the Elementary Division and a 3rd place win for Trinity Maki.  Good luck King Price as his poster will be judged at the state contest in March.  Congratulation to the winners and a big, “Thank You” to all the participants!  The Bayfield County Land and Water Conservation Dept. would also like to thank all the teachers and parents for supporting this fun and educational contest.  A special thank you to Erika Suo for her time and dedication in helping the students with their posters!
