Cardinal boys basketball is back! The boys started their practice on Monday, Nov. 11th. Last year the boys’ team ended the season with a record of 23 wins and 4 losses. The team had won both a Conference and a Regional title, making it to the Sectional semi-final and losing to McDonnel Central. With the season starting up again, it is a good time to take a look at the team and its changes. The team lost four seniors. Of the four seniors, three of them were starters. The team did retain five varsity players from last year. Along with losing varsity starters, the team also lost all three of their coaches. The new coaches are Clendon Gustafson, Anthony McNorton, and Roger Branham. With a new coaching staff comes a new approach to the game. All the changes that are happening to the team have the boys excited for a new season to start. The boys host the Northwestern Tigers at 5:45 and 7:00 p.m. for their first game, Nov. 29th.
