The first grade classroom had a guest visitor from The University of Superior.  Dr. Ed Burkett “Doc Bee” came to teach kindergarten through 6th grade students about honey bees and honey extraction.  The students watched “Doc Bee” open the honeybee frames with an electric knife.  He then placed the frames into an extractor that the students took turns turning so the frames would spin out the honey.  The students asked lots of questions and were excited to learn all about honeybees.  The lesson ended with a sticky, yummy taste test.
