With only two conference games left, the girl’s basketball team went down to Butternut, WI on Monday, February 5th in hopes of finishing off their season strong.

The varsity team had an early start, due to the lack of a J.V. game, with tip-off at 6:00 p.m.  The Cardinals had a rough start. For every point they scored, the Midgets would fire one right back.  The teams continued to go back and forth, with a score of 33-31 in favor of Butternut at the half.  The second half was more of the same.  With only a minute or two left in the game, the Cardinals managed to pull ahead, thanks to some well shot free throws, beating the Midgets by five points for a final score 60-55.  Freshman Chloe Sipsas was the leading scorer for the night with 24 points, followed by senior Signe Branham who had 15.  Signe led the team with 10 rebounds.  Fellow senior Heather Ranta was close behind with 8 rebounds.

The Cardinals went on to play the Drummond Lumberjills at home on Thursday, February 8th for their final conference game.
