On Monday, Oct. 10th, the National Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive for Memorial Blood Centers. It will be held here at South Shore School. The blood drive will run from 9:00 to 12:30.  Walk-in’s are welcomed if there are slots open. If you are wanting to register, contact Jodi Truchon by calling the school at 715-774-3500 or emailing [email protected]

The blood collected will be used to save many lives. Blood is essential for the human body. It carries oxygen throughout the body and heals wounds. Another reason it is so important to donate is that there are many different types of blood. There is type A,B, and O. Some are common and are matches for most people while other are less common and are needed more often.  Blood can help save lives in many different situations. It is used for blood transfusions, accidents where a huge amount of blood is lost and needed back, and saving premature babies. One day, a family member, friend, or even you may be in need of blood.

According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone is in need of blood in the world. The NHS and the community are appreciative of your support, so do your part and donate today!
