New Students, New Year!
September 8, 2016
On Sept. 1st, South Shore welcomed new and previous students to the 2016-17 school year. South Shore has gained new students from elementary all the way through high school.
After the first day, the students seemed to fit right into the South Shore family! A, 8th grade student, Chloe Sipsas, confirms, “It is better and more fun than my old school – Northwestern.”
We are all so enthused to have increasing numbers every single year. The new students also increased the fall sports participation in cross country, football, soccer, and volleyball.
We also have a new additions and changes to our staff this year. We all welcomed Mr. Bailey this year. He will be the new physical education teacher and boys basketball coach! Also, Mrs. Truchon, who we all know as the band and choir teacher, is the new guidance counselor for the middle school and high school in addition to functioning as the band teacher. David Broadwell has become our new latchkey supervisor and community coordinator. Stacy Jardine is working in the library. Lets all make this a great year and Go for the Gold!
