School is a multifaceted institution and the rewards for doing well – be it academically or athletically – are great. As Alyssa Kavajecz well knows! Since her second grade year, in some form or another, Kavajecz has participated in a multitude of sports including cross country, basketball and track. All of this hard work, effort and time commitment have paid off as Alyssa Kavajecz was named one of 32 WIAA Scholar athletes in Wisconsin. The competition was extremely fierce with 700 applicants. The application required the applicant to detail their GPA and athletic history. Alyssa, of course, had much to offer, having lettered in all three sports every year since ninth grade. For those keeping a tally, she earned herself a total of 12 letters! Impressive doesn’t necessarily do that effort justice. “Probably going to State my sophomore year in high jump,” Kavajecz reminisced about her storied athletic career. In order to qualify for State, she jumped 5’1″ and jumped an even 5 foot at State.
Kavajecz will travel to Wausau on May 1st to a banquet to honor all of Wisconsin’s scholar athletes.
