Lady Cardinals Thank Community For Support
March 10, 2015
It is a very big deal for the Lady Cardinals to beat out all the other schools in their division for the chance to compete for the Wisconsin State Girls High School Basketball Championship held in Green Bay. The school has simply been abuzz with excitement and preparation. Tonight was a meet-and-greet between the players and the community. The athletes signed t-shirts as well as prepped the vans for the journey south. According to Administrator Clendon Gustafson, this victory marks only the fourth time in the long history of girls’ basketball at South Shore, that the Cardinals will represent at State. South Shore has had a girls’ team since the early 1970s, which equates to roughly 40 years. We might be small, but we sure are mighty!
Tomorrow, the school will send the girls on their way with a pep rally, music and fire trucks. They depart for Green Bay at 9:00. Good skills, ladies! We are all extremely proud of you and to echo the wisdom of Gustafson…may you treasure each and every moment. No matter the outcome, we couldn’t possibly be more happy for each of you. Congratulations!
